While Neil and Marion were way in Spain at the Impact 10 Print Conference, students were tasked with producing an editioned set of twenty prints for a portfolio. Each student received a print from each other and on Neil and Marion’s return, staff (including Kiri Mitchell) also produced an edition. The paper size was limited to 21x21cm and the prints could be any format within the paper size and any technique. Students and staff then produced their own portfolios to house each set of prints.
Techniques included etching, collagraph, relief woodcut, relief linocut, screenprint, risograph and digital. The portfolio was lauched at a special Dunedin School of Art Party on 19th October 2018.
This proved to be a worthwhile exercise in editioning prints and produced a wide array of portfolios that challenged students’ printing and portfolio production showcasing a diversity of ideas. Students are congratulated on working steadily on their editions while Neil and Marion were away.
