Three years of hard work for our print students came to an end today with the last day of SITE16 at the Dunedin School of Art, our graduate exhibition that transformed the art school into an exciting exhibition space.
Congratulations to Michelle Hayward, Kaela Janiten, Kirsty Lewry and Sophie McDonagh. We wish you all a creative and fulfilling future. Thanks for all your contributions to our P Lab community and for your innovative experimentation with analogue and digital processes, and unconventional materials in the studio.

Year 2 & Grad Dip Exhibition
Congratulations to our 2nd year and Graduate Diploma print students on their show.
There was a wide variety of works that made great use of the space. We saw etchings and relief work by Jennifer, screenprinting by Lynn, April and Cathy, and paper cutout with video projection by our international exchange student Nora that included a sound piece by her partner Matthias.

… comes to the P Lab. The Print Studio hosted Malcolm Smith from Krack! in Yogyakarta, Indonesia for a residency that enabled him to make use of the Risograph printer. In his time here he produced a wonderful and whimsical colour publication, presented a public seminar for the Dunedin School of Art and gave a presentation to the staff and students of the Print Studio. We hope you had a warm welcome despite the challenging temperatures you endured.
Nga mihi na Malcolm!
The residency wouldn’t be complete without a taste of southern hospitality!

The crew from the P Lab enjoyed a wonderful afternoon at the studio of Barry Cleavin and Dee Copland through their generous support of the Caselberg Trust. It was lovely to see their works on display, process and inspiration, and share with us their tips of the trade so to speak. Loved the quirky collection of objects around the studio too! Thanks Dee and Barry.
Haere mai to Kate Davis from Scotland who has been spending the summer working in the Print Studio with technical assistance from Kiri Mitchell. She is this year’s Dunedin Public Art Gallery/Dunedin School of Art, Artist in Residence. We are all looking forward to her show, The Unswept Floor, opening at the DPAG next month.
